About Session Notes for Schools

A small reference site on the paperwork of school-based therapy: session notes, service logs, goal data, and the rules behind them.

Why this site exists

School-based speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and school psychologists carry large caseloads and a lot of documentation. Advice on how to write a note is often scattered across district memos, association pages, and half-remembered training slides. We collect the principles in one place, in plain language, with the sources named.

Who it is for

Clinicians who serve students with IEPs in public schools, graduate students on school placements, and supervisors who want a shared reference. The guides describe principles and structures. Your district sets the exact format.

How it is run

Session Notes for Schools is independent. It has no ads, no affiliate links, and nothing for sale. Guides are written by the editorial desk, currently Owen Castellano, and re-checked on the schedule on the how we review page.

What it does not do

It does not give legal, billing, or clinical advice. It does not replace your district policy, your state rules, your supervisor, or your professional standards. Examples are invented and never use real student information. Where Medicaid billing or state rules are concerned, we explain general principles and point you to the official source, because the details differ by state.
